From the shore of Anna Lake, below the brow of the hill on which the Retreat is perched, only a sliver of V House is visible.
The Retreat sits on the high end of a long, 2.07 acre lot, on the edge of the treeline. Large spruce trees provide shelter and screening from the road behind, while the topographical change and the length of the lot provide privacy on the front of the house, where open grasslands drop off rapidly, revealing views of the Rocky Mountains from the main living space and the master bedroom. Residents will wake up to a spectacular view over Anna Lake each morning.
A second bedroom suite has a more secluded feel, looking into the forest. The two bars of the V create a sheltered, courtyard-like space – a clearing in the woods with walls of tall trees forming two sides of the exterior space, providing the perfect place to enjoy a meal outside when Chinook winds are blowing.
